The Fort Plain Free Library will host free children’s holiday-themed sewing workshops for children aged eight to 13 (please see note below) led by retired Family and Consumer Sciences teacher Pamela Boynton. During the classes, participants will  hand stitch decorative buttons onto small fabric pouches. During the October 22nd class, they will create tiny jack o’lanterns. During Dec. 14th and 17th sessions, they will create a wreath.

For 25 years, Boynton taught middle and high school students at Little Falls and St. Johnsville School Districts. She also owned a business creating medieval costumes and had one season’s experience sewing costumes at the Sterling Renaissance Festival.

The free programs will take place at the 19 Willett St. library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Because of the limited class sizes, all participants must register in advance. Additionally, children 10 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult.

For more information or to sign up for the Oct. 22 class, call 518-993-4646. Please follow the library on Facebook for updates.
