Spring is in the air, and April is National Poetry Month. To celebrate both, the Fort Plain Free Library will host a spring poetry workshop facilitated by writer Joan Caska.

Caska, who specializes in literary flash fiction and short stories, has a passion for experimental writing and literary criticism. She said, “This creative writing workshop will focus on nature and the environment to spark ideas and invigorate your writing. Whether you’re an experienced writer, you’d like to give poetry a first try, or you’re just excited about reading poetry, this fun, relaxed workshop is for you!”

During each session, participants will read and reflect on published works and use artifacts, word play and brainstorming as springboards for creating new poems. A stretch of quiet time is included, along with an opportunity for sharing poems with the group, if desired.

No charge, but advance registration requested by calling 518-993-4646.
